Our Family Christmas Day!

Sarah loves playing in the snow!

Can you tell he "loves" the snow! Guess we left Alaska before he could figure out what to do with the fluffly white stuff.

The day after Christmas we got at least 4 inches of snow!

Merry Christmas All!

I know Christmas cards have gone out directing all to the blog for more pictures. Sorry to say it hasn't been done yet. I've been having problems with uploading the photos. I hope to get some up before Christmas, but they are coming, I promise!!!

House updates

Well, since we moved in the "honey-do list" has been getting longer and longer. However, we are making some sort of progress, I guess. We finished some storage closets above our garage as our first big project in the house. It took us the better part of 3 days if I remember correctly. Thanks Pop for all the help!! Now that they are done they are full of who knows what. Next I painted the kids rooms. Sarah's is green stripes, same color but two different sheens. Andrew's is just plain taupe. I just need to finish decorating them. Our next few projects are putting up a fence, adding on to our deck, acquiring an outdoor shed, and building new cabinets. My hopes are to be done before all the Christmas company, but we will see how that goes...lol. Some of the ongoing projects we are working on include making our lawn look green and not brown and changing out all the brass to an aged bronze. I'm excited I just bought new ceiling fans and chandeliers. Nothing special, but better than the brass, in my opinion. Enjoy the photos. (note: the photos of the new fans/lights are of the box.)

The sheetrock is done. We primed the walls and ceiling and put in a linoleum floor and trim.

The storage units after we installed the insulation. It started out with only 2X4s that you see in the back, the blue stuff and the floor.

Our new ceiling fans. Yes they are the same as the ones we bought for our house in AK. What can I say, I like them and the price is right. lol

Photos

As I'm going through 800+ photos little by little, I'll post a few from the variety of events.

The first set of photos was taken at Adam's parent's house in St. Augustine FL. This was the last event to be held at their house. They will be closing on the sale the end of this week and will be moving on. Where to....not exactly sure at this moment. Many, many options lay ahead for them. We are really curious to see where they end up living. Its sad to see the house go, but there is a time and place for everything! The kids will definately miss the swing out front!

Andrew and Fiona kissing. I missed the actual moment, but I did get her tongue sticking out...lol

Clearly Andrew is upset Sarah is sitting in the rocking chair. Shortly after this photo was taken he was sitting in the rocking chair. Sarah is soo sweet...or should I say Andrew is a bully????

Could not pass the next two up. Just love his facial expressions. The outfit he is wearing was one of Adam's when he was smaller. I'm going to try to find the photos of Adam in this outfit and put them in here next to each other so everyone can see the two...

The next few are a couple from Sarah's 3rd Birthday Party. There are more out there somewhere, but not on my camera. I'll have to try to get more from the others with cameras. Andrea, Adam's sister, helped me make the cake. One of the better tasting cakes I've made to date. Thanks for the recipes Andrea!!!! Sarah was not willing to blow out her candles, nor did she like when we sang happy birthday. But the pinata was a blast!! Thanks to all who came. Everyone of you added your own special touch to make it very special to her.

The next few include some sweaty kids. We were outside for a very short time and this is what they looked like when we came back inside. It was 103 outside with the heat index being 108+ and absolutely no wind what so ever!! Two ice pops later the sweat finally stopped rolling down Andrew's face...lol Sarah saw that Andrew's hair was "all messy up" and decided she needed to brush it.

Summer 2010

Wow, what a HOT, busy and crazy spring/summer for us! Adam was gone the month of May at Safety School in New Mexico and we rendevoused in San Diego for my brother's wedding over Memorial Day weekend! The wedding was awesome! The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was a blast. The kids partied hard until 10pm. The kids fell asleep in their car seats before we were out of the parking lot. We all had a lot of fun! My other brother stayed in CA with us as we hit up some of the big attractions in San Diego for kiddos-Sea World and the Zoo. A great time was had by all!! We came back to NC the first weekend of June. The following weekend we would have Sarah's B-day party. After being home for a few days Adam's parents and his sister and her two kids came up from FL and GA to visit and for Sarah's B-day party. Saturday we had her party which was a big success and a lot of fun for the kiddos. Come Sunday morning the kids and I were alone yet again. Adam's family had gone home and Adam left for a week long TDY to AZ. Upon Adam's return I was in and out of the doc's office with sick kiddos and Adam was pulling long days at work. I was waking up at night with the kids and he was coming home late and leaving early, so no one was getting much sleep. With pink eye and ear infections we stayed close to home so we didn't spread the germs. About a week later Sarah either had a reaction to the amoxicillin or a stomache virus. She was miserable for a day or so then finally started coming back around. Finally the last few days of June life was back to normal. Adam's project at work was done and the kids were feeling better! Now its time to go to "Manga & Papa's" (Adam's parents) house in FL for the 4th of July and one last shindig at their house. Friday they will be closing on the sale of their house! We are excited to see what lies ahead for them! My head is spinning just thinking about the month of June, but we made the best of it and made sure to get out and do stuff as a family, such as hiking and blueberry picking. The rest of the summer we will be laying low at home. Hopefully we will be able to get more work done with the house. I'll be uploading pictures a little at a time. Here are some photos from my brother's wedding to start it off. Look for more in the next few days.

Getting Settled In!

We are in our new house and loving it! The kids love all the open space! With Adam's parents in town we are making great progress on getting the boxes out of the house and our list of projects is dwindling each day! With his dad leading the work and his mom "babysitting" we are just moving right along. Without them we would still have random stacks of stuff in the rooms and our formal dining room filled, floor to ceiling-not kidding unfortunately, with empty boxes. Thank you guys sooooo very much! Now we need to buy some more furniture to fill the house. The weather has been wonderful lately! Having the nice weather has enabled the kids to get outside a lot. They are just loving it! Oh yea, Andrew is walking finally!!! He is still wiping out quite a bit, but I would say its his main form of transportation! Now once he stops wiping out and becoming more proficient I'm going to be in trouble. He's strong-willed as it is but he can't move very fast so its not that bad. Sarah is pretty much potty trained. We still have accidents but they aren't very common. She only wears a diaper when she's sleeping!! I love it! I think having a more consistent/normal life again is really helping the kids progress. Being so close to our family is great! Adam's parents are here now, my mom will be here for Easter and my dad will be here the following weekend! We are soo excited to be so close to them all!
Adam is getting used to his new squadron. He's been pretty busy getting spun up in the C-130 and his new ground job which is in the training shop. We just found out he has been selected to attend Safety School this May. Its a great opportunity for him. Unfortunately he'll be gone for the month of May, but will be able to attend my brother's wedding over Memorial Day weekend! From there we are possibly looking at a Fall deployment. It should only be 4 months, but its going to be a long 4 months I'm sure! We'll see what happens. We are keeping our fingers crossed.
